Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") apply to anyone who uses PauseTab (the "Extension"). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

The Extension is provided free of charge for personal use.

• You may install and use the Extension in your own browser.
• You may not redistribute, modify, or reverse engineer the Extension. (If the Extension is released as open source, the open-source license terms take precedence.)

2. As-is

The Extension is provided "as-is".

• We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, stability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of third-party rights.
• We are not liable for bugs, data loss, or any failure to meet your expectations.

3. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for any damages (direct, indirect, special, consequential, or loss of profits) arising from your use or inability to use the Extension.

The Extension is designed to "encourage a pause before opening a target site". It does not guarantee any change in your behavior or productivity.

4. User responsibilities

• Comply with applicable laws and regulations when using the Extension.
• For business use (e.g. on a company-issued device), follow your organization's policies.
• The Extension does not block use by minors, but use by minors is the responsibility of their guardians.

5. Third-party services

The Extension uses the DuckDuckGo Icon Service to fetch site favicons. See the Privacy Policy for details.

DuckDuckGo's terms and privacy policy are governed by DuckDuckGo Inc., not by us.

6. Data handling

Our handling of your data is governed by our separately published Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms without prior notice. Modified Terms become effective when published on the Extension's website. Material changes will be announced through an Extension update.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or the Extension shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in our place of business.
